Job Description
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of perishable and non-perishable food items and ensure adequate stock levels to meet demand.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and reduce the risk of stockouts.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to manage product recalls or withdrawals efficiently.
- Supplier Management:
- Assist in sourcing food suppliers and negotiating contracts to obtain competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and address any issues or concerns regarding product quality or delivery timelines.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards.
- Logistics Coordination:
- Coordinate the transportation of food products from suppliers to distribution centers and retail stores.
- Optimize transportation routes to minimize costs and ensure timely delivery while adhering to food safety regulations.
- Work closely with logistics partners to track shipments and address any delivery discrepancies or delays.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure the freshness and safety of food products throughout the supply chain.
- Conduct regular inspections of products and storage facilities to identify and address any quality issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demand Planning:
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to forecast demand for food products and plan inventory levels accordingly.
- Analyze historical sales data and market trends to predict future demand and adjust procurement plans as needed.
- Develop strategies to manage seasonal fluctuations in demand and promotional events effectively.
- Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:
- Stay up-to-date with food safety regulations, industry standards, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to food handling, storage, and transportation.
