Job Description
The Fleet/Vehicle Scheduling Officer is responsible for the efficient planning, dispatch, and
monitoring of all company vehicles and drivers. This role ensures optimal asset utilization,
strict adherence to Congolese road transport laws, and the timely movement of cargo while
maintaining cost-effective operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement daily/weekly vehicle schedules and driver rosters for
import, export, and local transit operations.
- Coordinate transport arrangements based on client requests, cargo readiness, and
delivery deadlines.
- Promote efficient use of vehicles and optimize routes to minimize fuel consumption
and maximize productivity.
- Monitor real-time vehicle movements using GPS Tracking Systems/telematics to
ensure adherence to planned routes and schedules.
- Ensure strict compliance with Congolese transport laws and regulations.
- Ensure all vehicles have valid roadworthiness certificates, insurance, and licenses.
- Coordinate and schedule regular preventative maintenance and inspections to
minimize vehicle downtime.
- Maintain detailed and accurate fleet records, including trip logs, fuel consumption
reports, maintenance history, and driver documentation.
