We are seeking a highly experienced Manager – Business Development with a strong EPC/infrastructure background in the African market to drive new business opportunities, secure projects, and develop strategic partnerships in Ethiopia and Rwanda. The candidate must have strong regional market knowledge, industry connections, and the ability to convert leads into profitable EPC projects.
Identify and secure new EPC/infrastructure opportunities across Ethiopia and Rwanda.
Develop strong relationships with government authorities, ministries, developers, consultants, and contractors.
Support company registration and vendor prequalification with government entities and major project authorities.
Track upcoming tenders, EOIs, and prequalification opportunities from government bodies and international funding agencies.
Identify and finalize JV partnerships with local companies for project participation and compliance with local regulations.
Lead commercial discussions and partnership agreements with potential partners.
Coordinate closely with Estimation, Technical, and Finance teams to prepare competitive and commercially viable proposals.
Ensure strong engagement with the Estimation team for accurate costing and bidding strategies.
Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and opportunity mapping within the East African infrastructure sector.
Represent the company in industry meetings, government discussions, and client engagements.
Achieve defined revenue targets and order booking goals for the Africa region.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
10+ years of overall experience in infrastructure, construction, or business development. Minimum 5+ years of experience in African markets, preferably East Africa.
Proven track record of securing EPC/infrastructure projects and developing JV partnerships.
Experience working with government tenders and internationally funded projects (World Bank, AfDB, JICA, etc.) will be preferred.
Strong understanding of regional tendering processes and regulatory frameworks.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.
Proven capability in business development and project acquisition.
Strong negotiation and commercial management skills.
Ability to build and manage local partnerships and alliances.
Knowledge of French or local regional languages will be an added advantage.
