Job Description

  • Ensure that the UPS system is operational all time.
  • Ensure effective customer support in the area of telecommunications by providing supervision and training of radio operators when required, formal user training and ad-hoc technical assistance to end-users.
  • Provide accountability for telecom resources through accurate analysis and evaluation of official telecom needs, suggestion for procurement, do cost effective installation & maintenance, distribution to end users and disposal of obsolete equipment.
  • Provide regular accurate inventory and reporting.
  • Manage the PABX and video conference systems in the country office. Establish and maintain voice and video conferencing facilities and provide ad-hoc technical assistance to end-users.
  • Communication and networking through coordination, collaboration and partnership.
  • Interact with other UN agencies on issues of joint interest in the area of radio telecommunications; provide technical support when there is need.
  • Identify support (regional and local) available from UNICEF telecommunications providers and coordinate assistance provision direct from vendors/service providers to UNICEF offices requiring such assistance.
  • Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
